Students were challenged to create a freestanding obstacle course where a marble must run for 40 centimeters or longer. Students grade 1-8 were challenged to create the longest chain possible using one sheet of 12x18 construction paper and 1 ft of tape. Students grades 1-8 are designing catapults to see how far they can launch cotton balls. Dear Early Childhood Parents,
Your child has been coming to the library the last 10 weeks. They may have expressed interest in checking out books from our library, however it is school policy for the students to wait until they reach kindergarten level (red folder group) to check out books independently. We do offer an alternative. If your child would like to check out reading materials from our library, please feel free to accompany them to the library Fridays 3:30-4:00pm. The library is located on the second floor. You can help them select appropriate reading materials for them to read independently or for you to read together. Students who are with a guardian may select TWO (2) reading materials to check out at a time. Materials include audio books, chapter books, board books, literacy backpacks, etc. Items should be returned after one week. Return them to the library and place them inside the GREEN bin next to the checkout desk. These procedures ensure the items checked out are properly returned. If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected]. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you with your family’s literacy at home! Sarah Steiger Holiday gift giving is upon us. The Center for Children's Books has produced an excellent brochure to guide you in your purchases! As the school year wraps up, please return all of your library books and materials by Friday, May 30th!
Any lost or damaged materials will incur a fee in order to replace items. Please contact Ms. Steiger with specific questions. |
