Drummond Design Table is a weekly challenge offered to students 1st-8th grade. The challenges are accessible and engaging across subjects and grades. A typical challenge encourages planning, champions failure, and promotes reflection.
With the use of entry/exit tickets, the commitment of students to the challenge (regardless of the outcome), limited materials, and zero adult assistance, students rely on one another and themselves to define "success". Those successes vary with each student and challenge. Success can be using materials in ways never considered, forging through difficult group dynamics, or discovering the ability to remain positive when nothing works.
